I got the DREADED Rock Chip on the Street Glide ST front fender....ugh. So I went on the search for options to fix it and had two options..Attempt to touch it up myself or BUY a new front fender for about $600. Well, I didn't want to buy a new fender just yet, so I gave it my best "NO EXPERIENCE" shot at doing a touch up. Watch until the end to see if the process I followed was a success or a HUGE FAIL. Great work! Looks awesome! I've never had much luck with these paint pens...mine usually come out "ok" looking! Looks real good! Thanks for sharing...stay safe out there!!😎👍🤙👍🤙🇨🇦
Nicely done. Always a pain when this happens. The advice I got from my detail guy is to let it harden for a day or two and gently buff it out with some good quality polish then wax it. Should be almost invisible.
@@HDVIBE Rick: per my dealer front forks (black trim) are painted. The detail guy at my dealer used HD vivid black touch up paint on a couple of very small nicks. Let it dry for a while and then buffed them out; almost invisible. Key is to let the paint dry.
Looks good to me! I have some bad chips on the bottom part of my fender. I do not know if it was from dropping it or if it was from rocks. I am glad you were able to fix it. 😊
Advanblack worked for me with a scratch on my tourpack, and a chip on the tank. Vivid black color. Now an animal dug its nails into my front fender. Hoping the touch up works out on my fender.

Looked really nice from a novice point of view. I worried about the paint flowing down the fender due to the angle of the chip area but it didn't seem to do that on the second attempt. I'm wondering how to do an even worse case scenario like your forks, where they are sitting at a more severe straight up and down angle for the paint to flow.
Thanks Marty for watching and commenting. It turned out pretty well and I'm pleased with the result. The forks....well I'm not sure if I'd try to touch them up. I may end up wrapping them with a gloss black vinyl. Ride safe and enjoy. 👊✌️👍
Thanks for watching and commenting. I think this chip happened when I got caught in a heavy rain storm on the interstate. Stuff flying everywhere. Ride safe and enjoy. ✌️👊👍
Thanks for watching and commenting. I priced a new fender so I knew what options I have. Doesn't hurt to be knowledgeable regarding options. Ride safe and enjoy. 👊✌️👍

I've got a tube of this too for my bike, just haven't used it yet. Got a scratch from trying to put the tour pack back on. Great job on the touch up.

This was interesting Rick. Wondering if it's the same process with denim paint.

You know what I do to avoid this stuff. Pecks and rock chips? I don’t tailgate. I stay 2 to 3 car lengths from the vehicle in front of me.

Why would you even price a new fender because of a little chip
